Verified local facts
Compare personal loan evidence by field, owner, observation date and intended use before deciding whether two written proposals can be placed beside each other.
Evidence and limitations
The Reserve Bank of Malawi sources support currency context and a complaint sequence, while the checked provider pages support only their stated product descriptions and visible information fields.
Questions to ask before signing
A calculator result, public product page or institution listing can be mistaken for a current personal quotation, complete contract, eligibility result or promise of approval.
Decision checklist
Freeze one personal loan scenario, authenticate each evidence owner, compare matching written fields and stop whenever a value, scope or document relationship remains unresolved.
Freeze one private personal loan scenario
Define one borrowing question before comparing documents. Record privately the intended purpose, amount basis, preferred repayment horizon and the date on which written information will be requested. These are the reader's comparison inputs, not market facts, and they must not be sent to Credizen. Keep income records, account details, quotations and identifiers in secure private storage. Give the scenario a stable label so every later document can be connected to the same question. If the amount, timing or purpose changes, open a new version instead of silently reusing the old board. A provider page may describe a personal loan, but it cannot fill the reader's private scenario or prove suitability. This boundary prevents two different enquiries from appearing comparable merely because both mention borrowing in Malawi.
Separate the five evidence envelopes
Create distinct envelopes for official institution context, provider-controlled product descriptions, calculator material, a private written quotation and the eventual agreement or schedule. Label every envelope with its controller, exact address or private document reference, and observation or issue date. Do not copy a figure from one envelope into another. The checked Standard Bank Malawi page describes Fixed Term Loan as an unsecured personal loan, while the checked NBS page identifies a Personal Loan for individual customers; those statements remain provider descriptions. A quotation is a separate applicant-specific object, and an agreement is separate again. Reserve Bank of Malawi material has its own limited role. Keeping the envelopes apart makes it possible to see which document actually owns each field and stops a public description from being presented as a contractual promise.
Authenticate each evidence owner
Before reading a product field, verify who controls the evidence. Reach an official or provider-controlled site independently rather than trusting a copied link, advert, search excerpt or unsolicited message. Record the displayed institution name, the page controller and the date checked. A name match on an official page can support a narrow identity observation, but it does not establish product availability, price, eligibility, service quality or approval. A provider page can describe its own product but cannot speak for another institution or for the regulator. For a private quotation, verify the sending channel independently and retain the original outside Credizen. If the controller, institution relationship or channel cannot be confirmed, mark the envelope blocked. Do not normalise a name difference or infer a corporate relationship simply to complete the personal loan comparison.
Build matching personal loan field cards
Open one card for each field that must be compared: requested amount, stated currency, repayment term, payment schedule, interest basis, charges, insurance, security, conditions, total repayment information and expiry or validity wording. Copy a value only from the reader's current written evidence and preserve its exact unit, label, document owner and date. Use unknown when a field is absent, unclear or located only on an unrelated public page. Do not enter zero, not applicable or a typical value as a substitute. Compare cards only when they describe the same scenario and field meaning. If one document states a periodic rate while another states a different cost measure, keep them on separate cards until the responsible providers explain the relationship in writing. The board compares evidence completeness and alignment; it does not calculate a provider score.
Keep Malawi kwacha context separate
The Reserve Bank of Malawi states that the kwacha has been the currency of Malawi since 1971. That national context does not prove that a particular quotation, payment or agreement is denominated in Malawi kwacha. Record the contractual denomination only from the reader's current written document. Preserve the currency label beside every amount and never perform a silent conversion. If two proposals use different currencies, conversion dates, exchange assumptions or fee denominations, mark the comparison conditional until the reader obtains aligned written evidence. A public exchange display or remembered rate cannot repair the mismatch. Do not publish the reader's amounts on Credizen. This separation allows the board to use accurate Malawi context without turning a general currency fact into an unsupported claim about a personal loan document.
Treat calculator results as questions
The Standard Bank Malawi material reviewed for this route labels its calculator pricing as indicative; retain that screen as an estimate, never as the institution's acceptance. Preserve that limitation whenever a calculator is consulted. Record the inputs, observation date and displayed labels privately, then convert each output into a question for the provider rather than a confirmed comparison value. Ask which fields will appear in a current written quotation and how the quotation relates to the calculator display. Do not transfer a calculator result into the amount, payment, cost or approval card. A later written response may answer a field, but it does not rewrite what the calculator previously showed. If no written confirmation is obtained, the card remains unknown. This discipline prevents an illustrative personal loan tool from becoming a fabricated offer, contractual schedule or market-wide benchmark.
Record missing and conflicting fields
Maintain an exception ledger beside the comparison board. For every gap or conflict, state the affected field, the two evidence envelopes involved, their dates, the precise difference and the institution that can clarify it. Use missing when a required field is not present, ambiguous when its meaning is unclear, conflicting when two relevant records disagree, and blocked when ownership or scope cannot be authenticated. Never average competing values, select the more attractive statement or borrow a term from another product. Preserve earlier versions after a correction and link the written explanation that controls the later card. The checked NBS page visibly provides headings for rate basis, access costs, term, security and requirements, but those headings alone do not supply a reader's contractual values. Unknown fields remain unknown until appropriate written evidence answers them.
Request clarification before escalating
Send a concise question through an independently authenticated provider channel, identifying the document and field without disclosing unnecessary personal information. Preserve the request and response privately and update only the card the response clearly addresses. A generic answer, silence or an unauthenticated message leaves the exception unresolved. Keep service complaints separate from product comparison. The checked Reserve Bank of Malawi consumer page describes a sequence in which a complaint goes first to the financial service provider, then through its internal appeal process, and may go to the Registrar if the consumer remains dissatisfied. It also lists market-conduct instruments including Fair Treatment 2024, Complaints Handling 2024 and Disclosure Requirements for Credit Products 2018. These observations organise an evidence file; they do not predict a response time, remedy or result for an individual personal loan matter.
Close with a bounded comparison state
Close each proposal pair as comparable, conditional, contradicted or blocked. Comparable means the required fields for the same private scenario are supported by aligned written evidence; it does not mean cheaper, suitable or recommended. Conditional means a named clarification could complete the board. Contradicted means relevant written records disagree and no controlling explanation has been confirmed. Blocked means ownership, scope or a mandatory field cannot be established. List the reopening trigger beside every nonfinal state and retain the evidence dates. Do not rank providers, predict availability, eligibility, approval, disbursement or service quality, and do not force an empty public provider selection into the page. The final decision remains the reader's, based on current written material and household circumstances. Credizen supplies an evidence method and does not receive the personal loan documents used with it.
Evidence and limitations
Products with official evidence
Standard Bank Fixed Term Loan
Not published — request current pre-contract information
The official page confirms an unsecured fixed-term personal loan; its calculator is indicative and not an offer.
