Matched personal loan quotations Zimbabwe: neutral worksheet

Matched personal loan quotations in Zimbabwe begin with one borrowing scenario, not with two unrelated offers. State the same requested amount, exact currency, repayment term and request date to each provider. Then preserve every difference the providers return instead of adjusting figures or inventing missing prices. The worksheet does not predict approval, availability or the terms either institution will offer. Its purpose is to show whether two written responses are genuinely comparable and which questions remain unanswered. Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe material supports requesting the rate and its calculation, fees, charges and relevant conditions in writing.

Verified local facts

Lock the comparison scenario before contacting providers. Record the purpose, requested principal, required net proceeds, exact currency, term, repayment frequency and request date. These are enquiry inputs, not predicted approval terms. Create one row per response with the legal provider and product name, response date, quotation expiry, quoted principal, currency, term, payment pattern, gross amount, deductions, net proceeds, interest basis, compulsory fees, insurance, total repayment, settlement terms and unresolved questions. A blank field remains unknown and cannot be entered as zero merely to complete the table.

Evidence and limitations

Use the original request, dated provider response, quotation, cost breakdown, repayment schedule and proposed agreement. A quotation is matched only when the main scenario inputs agree. If a provider returns a different principal, currency, term, frequency or compulsory condition, retain that difference and ask for an equivalent version. Do not convert currencies, scale figures or copy a value from another product. Keep requested amount, approved principal, deductions and net proceeds separate because equal principals can deliver different usable cash. Record how interest, fees and insurance are collected rather than treating one advertised percentage as a complete price.

Questions before signing

False precision is the main risk. Two tables may appear aligned while one omits insurance, uses a different first payment date or applies a charge outside the schedule. A missing response is not a zero price, and a provider-specific term is not a Zimbabwe market norm. Public product pages can confirm a product name and selected published facts but cannot predict a personal quotation. Disclosure quantity, brand familiarity and response speed must not become ranking factors. A provider may also change an input during assessment; that creates a new proposal that needs its own comparison rather than a silent edit to the original worksheet.

Decision checklist

Classify the result as matched, awaiting clarification, materially different or unsuitable for comparison. Ask each provider to explain an omitted charge, changed amount, different term or conflicting total and preserve both the original and corrected documents. The worksheet may support one dated household decision, reject both proposals or show that no fair result is possible. Archive the request, responses, quotations, schedules, clarifications and final agreement together. State which version informed the decision. Never use the worksheet to promise acceptance, describe a permanent cheapest lender or fill an unknown price with an estimate.

Lock amount, term, currency and date

Write the scenario before opening a provider form: the minimum usable amount required, exact currency, repayment term, frequency and request date. Use those same inputs for every personal loan enquiry. The request does not claim that a provider will approve the principal or duration. If a response changes one input, record the provider's value beside the original and ask whether an equivalent quotation is available. Do not translate one currency into another or infer a denomination from an account page. RBZ says borrowing clients should receive the applicable interest rate and calculation method, fees, charges and conditions in writing. That disclosure forms the worksheet evidence; it does not supply an individual price itself.

Populate a neutral quotation row

Copy the legal institution, product, response date and validity period exactly. Add requested and quoted principal, currency, term, frequency, gross principal, each upfront deduction, net proceeds, rate period and calculation basis. Give compulsory fees and insurance separate columns, followed by first, regular and final payments, total repayment, late-payment wording and early-settlement treatment. Add the provider's source document for each value. Unknown means the provider has not supplied usable evidence; it does not mean free, unavailable or unlimited. A second reader should be able to recreate the comparison from the stored documents without guessing which charge was included or which version was current.

Reject rows that only look comparable

Check amount, currency, term, frequency and quotation date before comparing totals. Then compare net proceeds and compulsory conditions. One response may deduct a fee before payout while another finances it; equal principal would not mean equal usable cash. A different salary-routing, account or insurance condition can also prevent a clean match. Ask for clarification rather than modifying a provider document. If an equivalent response is unavailable, label the rows materially different and explain why. Do not calculate an unofficial rate, convert currency or scale a quotation. A transparent no-comparison result is more reliable than a numerical winner made from unlike inputs.

Keep CBZ and Stanbic public facts inside their boundaries

CBZ's Consumer Loan page publishes a purpose and application document list but no applicant-specific amount, currency, rate, term, fees, instalment or total repayment. A CBZ worksheet row therefore requires a current written quotation. Stanbic's Unsecured Personal Loan page publishes a 3-to-36-month range, 4% arrangement fee, monthly insurance at 0.13% of loan amount and interest on the monthly outstanding balance. It does not publish the applicant's rate, amount or loan currency, so those facts cannot become a personalised Stanbic row. This contrast concerns public disclosure only. The Stanbic facts apply to its named product and cannot be assigned to CBZ or used as a market benchmark.

Close the worksheet without ranking providers

Resolve every missing field or keep it visible. Reconcile the quotation with the provider's schedule and ask why a total, deduction or condition changed. Then classify the evidence: fully matched, comparable after a documented adjustment by the provider, still incomplete, or not comparable. A household can test fully evidenced payments separately; the worksheet itself does not decide affordability. Record the date and reason for the outcome, including a decision to reject every offer. Neither row order nor faster response is a recommendation. If a later agreement changes the amount, currency, term, charges or schedule, reopen the comparison and preserve the earlier version instead of overwriting it.
