Verified local facts
The currency label chain binds every amount to displayed currency, provider, product, basis, period, checked date and any explicit transformation before comparison.
Evidence reviewed
Help a Mauritius household label quotation currency using attributable evidence and a stop condition.
Decision checklist
The currency label chain binds every amount to displayed currency, provider, product, basis, period, checked date and any explicit transformation before comparison; review marker 128 applies this device only to “label quotation currency Mauritius” and the evidence boundaries named on this page.
Tag the source amount
Capture the number exactly as displayed with currency symbol or code, surrounding label, provider, page, product, checked date and visible qualifiers. Do not assume currency from country, domain or household expectation. If the source omits currency, label it unknown and unusable for arithmetic. A copied number without context cannot enter the chain, even when it resembles a familiar rate or charge.
Identify what the number measures
Classify amount, percentage, charge, repayment, limit or other published field using the source's own wording. Record rate basis and period only when visible. Do not relabel a nominal-looking value as total cost or infer annualisation. MCB rates material supports only its own published fields and context. A measure that cannot be identified remains a question rather than an input to comparison.
Bind provider and product
Attach MCB evidence to the exact MCB product context and MauBank evidence to MauBank. Bank of Mauritius licensee material can assist legal-name matching but contributes no product price. Similar product labels do not allow values to cross providers. If a quotation uses a different legal or product name, resolve the relationship before linking. The chain breaks visibly at ambiguity instead of joining convenient values.
Preserve quotation currency privately
A household quotation receives amount, currency, term, rate basis, charges, conditions, expiry and recipient exactly as stated. Keep it separate from public evidence. Do not assume a quoted currency from an earlier conversation or provider page. If the document contains multiple currencies, map each amount independently and identify which obligation or disbursement it describes. A quotation remains conditional evidence, not approval.
Declare every transformation
If the household converts an amount for budgeting, preserve original value and currency, transformation purpose, chosen reference, timestamp and rounding. The converted figure is a household planning view, not a provider term. Never compare a transformed figure with an original as though both were quoted. Where no competent transformation method is chosen, keep currencies side by side and compare non-price conditions separately. Add a unit witness beside every derived figure: one reviewer reads the original unit aloud while another verifies the transformation record. If either cannot identify currency and period, the derived value is withdrawn.
Align dates and payment periods
A monthly amount, annual percentage and one-off charge cannot occupy the same comparison column without explicit separation. Map due dates, frequency, term and timing of charges from attributable evidence. Do not multiply or divide when assumptions are missing. A current rate page cannot refresh an expired quotation. Time labels remain attached at every link so arithmetic never conceals evidence age.
Run a broken-link inspection
Read every comparison cell backwards to source amount, currency, owner, product, basis and date. Flag any link that relies on country assumption, copied symbol, silent conversion, provider crossover or missing period. Ask a second reviewer to reproduce transformations. If the result differs, retain originals and remove the derived comparison until the method is resolved. The inspection values traceability over a complete-looking table. Stress the chain with a three-basket trace. Basket A holds original provider-published figures exactly as displayed. Basket B holds personal quotation amounts and conditions for this household. Basket C holds household planning transformations, including any conversion or timing adjustment. No figure may move baskets; only a labelled link can connect them. Choose one amount from each basket and reconstruct provider, product, currency, measure, period, date and transformation. If an MCB public figure appears in a MauBank basket, or a planning conversion appears as a quoted obligation, break the link immediately. Next introduce a currency-symbol ambiguity test. Remove the surrounding page context and ask whether the symbol alone identifies currency and basis. If not, the context is mandatory evidence and the isolated number cannot be exported. Introduce a timing test by placing a one-off charge, monthly repayment and annual percentage on the same line; the comparison must refuse until the measures are separated. For converted planning views, run a reversal check back to the original without claiming the chosen reference is a provider term. Record rounding residuals as household calculation details rather than hiding them. Finally, inspect decision impact. Ask which household conclusion would change if currency, period or rate basis were wrong. Material links receive a fresh source check and second-person reproduction. The chain closes only when every relied-upon figure can travel backwards to an exact original and forwards to a clearly labelled household use without losing ownership.
Stop before false precision
Use only intact chains for household review. An intact chain still does not prove total cost, affordability or that the quoted terms will be contracted. Missing charges, conditions or repayment timing remain separate unknowns. If essential currency or basis cannot be confirmed by the decision date, exclude the value and consider exiting that option. The final worksheet displays originals, transformations and uncertainty without invented decimals or rankings.
