Privacy policy
How we handle your personal information
This Privacy Policy explains how Credizen Pty Ltd ("Credizen", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
When you use our loan comparison service, we may collect:
- Comparison form data: Loan amount, loan purpose, employment status, monthly income, credit history, state/territory, date of birth, email address, and phone number (optional)
- Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, IP address, and referral source
- Cookie data: Analytics and functionality cookies (see Cookie section below)
2. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Match you with suitable loan offers from our lender partners
- Display personalised comparison results
- Send your comparison results via email (if you provide your email)
- Improve our comparison algorithms and service quality
- Analyse website usage to improve user experience
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
How privacy works inside the comparison journey
Credizen collects information primarily to generate comparison results and help you move from research to a lender shortlist. We are not a lender, so we do not perform the lender's full credit assessment ourselves. Instead, the data you enter helps us show relevant options and, where you choose to continue, supports the handoff to the lender you select.
If you want more context on service limits or lender matching, see our disclaimer and methodology.
3. Disclosure to third parties
We may share your information with:
- Lender partners: When you click "Apply" to proceed with a lender, your comparison details may be shared to facilitate your application
- Analytics providers: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for website improvement (anonymised data)
- Legal requirements: Where required by law, regulation, or court order
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
When information is shared with a lender
Your information is not automatically turned into a full credit application just because you use the comparison experience. Sharing with a lender happens in the context of progressing toward that lender's own process, and the lender remains responsible for its own privacy notices, identity checks, and responsible lending assessment.
- Using comparison results alone does not mean every lender receives your full details.
- Continuing to a lender may involve passing the details needed to support that next step.
- Once you are on a lender's side of the process, its own terms and privacy policy also apply.
4. Data security
We protect your information using:
- 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted storage on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
- Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel
- Regular security reviews and updates
Data minimisation and practical limits
We try to collect only the information needed to run the comparison service and support related operational, legal, and fraud-prevention needs. We do not ask for full banking credentials or supporting documents as part of the standard Credizen comparison flow. A lender may request more information later under its own process.
5. Data retention
Comparison form data is processed in real time and is not retained beyond the matching session unless you opt in to receive results via email. Usage data is retained for up to 26 months for analytics purposes.
6. Your rights under the APPs
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access — Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
- Complaint — Lodge a complaint if you believe we have breached the APPs
To exercise these rights, contact us at maloni@outlook.com.
How to make a privacy request
If you want to access, correct, or raise a concern about personal information handled by Credizen, contact us through our contact page or by email. To protect your information, we may ask for enough detail to verify the request before acting on it.
